If you’ve been feeling chronic sadness and disinterest in the activities you otherwise enjoy, irritability, despair, self-doubt, and/or a distorted and negative sense of self, which disrupt your life and negatively impact your health and wellness, you may be suffering from depression. A bout of depression can last weeks, months, or even more than a year. Depression has many causes some of which include;

⦁ Pregnancy and childbirth (postpartum depression)
⦁ Limited sunlight during winter (seasonal affective disorder)
⦁ Stress-related to work or a relationship
⦁ Hormonal imbalances,
⦁ Family history

Psychotherapy can help you to learn ways to better cope with stress and manage symptoms of depression. Your treatment will begin with a comprehensive assessment during which we will explore your past, your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours to identify themes to explore during psychotherapy. Then through weekly therapy appointments we will work toward resolving any underlying issues or conditions that contribute to your condition.
